In a paternoster furnace, the components, such as crankshafts, are placed on gondolas or in C-hooks and pass through the furnace’s usable space several times in an up and down movement. Compared to a classic continuous furnace, the necessary temperature holding time can be achieved in a space-saving manner.
The cooling section is integrated into the furnace, so the heat treatment is completely finished after removal. Continuous movement at temperature with minimal downtime and maintenance is the key to the successful operation.
