For over a centuary Nolzen has been shaping the heat treatment technology – from the beginnings as a small anchor winding shop in 1919 till today’s specialist for customized industrial furnaces.

NOLZEN, milestones in our history
1919
Founded by Artur and Julius Nolzen as an anchor winding shop located in Ronsdorf.
1920s
First steps into repair and construction of industrial furnaces - specialization into heat treatment.
1930s
Patented innovations such as precise temperature control and start into special designs.
1943
Destruction during the war, reconstruction by our own staff.
1950s
Expansion into gas and oil heating, export to Europe and overseas.
1970s
Expansion of the portfolio, focused on lightweight construction, increased global reach.
1980s
Entry of the third generation (Hans Artur Jr. & Ulrich Nolzen), technical developments.
2006
Entry of the fourth generation - Felix Artur Nolzen, digitalisation of construction, and focus on nitriding shaft furnaces.
2010s
Fully automated systems, international projects, market leader in this segment.
2019
100th anniversary, first seminars for customers and partners.
2023
Change of the company name into Nolzen Wärmebehandlungsanlagen GmbH, still managed by Felix Artur Nolzen, alongside with a strong investor and a positive look into the future.
